Mark Guillaudeu began his wine career at Glen’s Garden Market in Washington, D.C., where he quickly advanced from cashier to management, specializing in the wines of the Mid-Atlantic. He quickly made his way to California and the two Michelin-starred Commis in Oakland where he led the
bar and beverage program for five years. During his time at Commis Mark also taught for the San Francisco Wine School, including the rigorous Italian Wine Scholar program and Wine Business. He earned his Advanced Sommelier certification from the Court of Master Sommeliers in 2018 and was named one of Food & Wine Magazine’s 'Best New Sommeliers' in 2019. In 2022, he achieved the prestigious Best Sommelier USA title. In 2023, he made history as the first American semi- finalist at the ASI World Championship in Paris and earned the Master Sommelier Diploma that
same year. In 2024, Mark became the first sommelier to win Best Sommelier USA twice and joined the sommelier team at the renowned Eleven Madison Park. In 2025 Mark again made history as the first American finalist at the ASI Best Sommelier of the Americas competition in Santa Rosa, taking home second place and firmly putting the American sommelier community on the world stage.
